By myself but never alone.

The warm sun on my back

As I head west cast a long shadow

In front of me as if to say, “Have faith and follow.”

I overcame fear.

I canceled my plans.

I listened to my voice deep in my soul.

I feel light.

Elated!

Intense joy!

I have made the right decision!

I am hiking the whole Camino Francés!

Others with foreign languages became friends.

I witnessed art

In their smiles and in their kindness.

The peace and love and joy on the trail

Was soul-filling, truly a gift!

The world blessed me with all her heart!

The cooling of the high winds high up in the Pyrénées

On that hot summer day.

The predawn and the sounds of my footsteps

Waking all my senses

As I awaited the sunrise.

The rainbow on the cold drizzly day

As I turned a corner on the trying trail.

What a magnificent masterpiece I was

So honored to witness!

Let your feet touch the earth.

Slow down and breathe.

Open your eyes and you will see!
